TV & Video + Radio magazine as part of IntegraTEC awards the CALA Award™ to the Best Audiovisual Piece in the University Competition 2023.
For 2023, the CALA AWARDS will be awarded within the framework of IntegraTEC Colombia, which seeks to recognize, highlight and motivate the work of students in careers related to the audiovisual industry.
The winner of the CALA AWARDS FOR THE BEST AUDIOVISUAL AUDIOVISUAL CONTEST UNIVERSITY AWARD 2023 will be announced at IntegraTEC Colombia, which will be held on October 26 and 27.
In its ninth version, the CALA AWARDS competition seeks university filmmakers who show and bear witness with their productions, stories about a subject of their interest, that they are passionate about, and so they can capture in their videos the best narrative and technical qualities, which reflect their skills and knowledge during their training process.

- PARAMETERS Definition of the subject matter
- Audiovisual pieces must tell a story.
- The contestant may choose the theme and genre he/she wishes to address in his/her audiovisual piece.
- The jury's decisions are final. Participants, once they submit their work to be considered by a jury, assume that they have the experience and criteria necessary to make the best choice and in the end, even if they do not come out as winners, they fully accept it.
Contest Parameters- The call is open to students from institutions of higher education in Colombia.
- The proposal submitted must not be more than one year old at the time the competition is proposed and must not have been awarded a prize in another competition.
- Each participant or group may compete with only one audiovisual product.
- The student submitting the audiovisual work certifies that he/she is the author or the person authorized to represent the group producing the audiovisual piece.
- The finalist works may be broadcasted on open television or other media, with the due authorization of the filmmakers for non-profit dissemination purposes
Specific parameters- Participants must submit an audiovisual piece of a maximum of ten (10) minutes.
- The quality of the proposed works will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
- Communicative innovation: creativity in the treatment of the theme present in the production.
- Audiovisual narrative: creative use of image and sound through innovation and creation of new formats.
- Technical quality: the final product presented must demonstrate a level of sound and visual quality that meets the broadcasting standards of an open television channel.
Delivery of material and selection of finalists- The nomination of works can only be made through the web page www.integratec.show.
- To submit an audiovisual piece to the contest, it must be uploaded to Youtube. Then, you must fill out the registration form on the website www.integratec.show providing all the required information, including the link to the submitted video.
- The deadline for the submission of audiovisual pieces is Friday, September 15th, 2023 at 5:00 p.m.
- A jury made up of three of the country's most experienced audiovisual producers and directors will review the audiovisual pieces and choose five finalists. The finalists will be those who present an audiovisual piece with the best proposal in terms of communicative innovation, audiovisual narrative and technical quality.
- For the selection of the winner, a virtual vote will be held among the five best proposals, starting fifteen days before IntegraTEC Colombia, between October 5 and 20, 2023.
- One representative or leader from each group that is the author of the five finalist audiovisual pieces will be invited to participate in the IntegraTEC Academic Program in Bogota, with airfare and lodging expenses paid by the organization.
- The award ceremony will take place on the first day of IntegraTEC Colombia, October 26, 2023.
- Participation in this contest implies acceptance of the contest rules. Any possible claims and inconveniences will be resolved by the Contest Organizing Committee.

- Descripción Caruso es una historia sobre los sueños, donde a través de ellos, bajo la potencia creadora de nuestra imaginación, existimos y nos damos un significado en medio del absurdo de la vida y la indiferencia de nuestro entorno, legitimando así una resistencia contra la extinción, intentando, como seres sociales que somos, alcanzar la inmortalidad a través de la memoria colectiva. - Descripción Basado en hechos reales, Profano narra la historia de Lucilo, un hombre de 25 años de la ciudad de Medellín que vive con su esposa Rosa, ambos son personas muy religiosas y ante los ojos de cualquiera son la pareja perfecta pero cada uno tienen una vida secreta de la cual nadie sabe ni siquiera entre ellos mismos, Rosa practica Brujería negra y Lucilo tiene un amorío con Teresa, una ex prostituta del barrio Lovaina, cuando Rosa se entera de este relación secreta les lanza un conjuro, el cual desemboca la locura y aspecto deplorable de Teresa y el terrible suicidio de Lucilo, que al enterarse del embrujo decide subir hasta el último piso de un edificio y lanzarse, muriendo así el 2 de mayo de 1964 a las 8:27 am.
